Tuesday, February 09, 2010 America's biggest bookstore chain Barnes & Noble Inc, finally confirmed on Monday that its Nook electronic reader would be available in most of its physical stores by Wednesday. Designed to compete with Amazon's Kindle, the Nook e-reader was launched by Barnes & Noble in October and could only be purchased on the retailer's website or at in-store kiosks.

As its popularity soared, the bookstore had a hard time keeping up with the increasing demand of customers.

The New York-based bookseller said it was shipping its e-readers to a large number of its stores this week, and would be available for purchase by 10 February. It's launch in bookstores was delayed as the original stock had sold out before the holidays and the company was unable to ramp up enough production, reports Reuters.
