SAP today announced the appointment of Peter Gartenberg as Managing Director of SAP India. Alok Goyal will now assume the role of COO. Extending SAP's commitment to the Indian market, SAP India will be aligned with the company's largest regional unit EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) under the leadership of José Duarte, President of SAP EMEA + India.

Peter takes over from Steve Watts, Interim President, SAP India. Prior to this role, he was serving as COO, SAP India, since November 2009. He will be responsible for all market-facing activities across the field organization, overseeing customer operations as well as general management like sales, consulting, partner ecosystem expansion and marketing. With
over 23 years of experience, Peter has an impressive track record of driving transformations to create high value, customer-centric organisations in India, China, Europe and USA. Peter is a permanent resident of the country and is based in Mumbai since 2000.

customer focus, and bring innovation for long-term sustainable growth to its customers in every industry, market and customer engagement.
Along with Peter, Alok will now focus on operational excellence and resource optimization, in order to ensure that customers derive maximum value from SAP offerings. Alok previously served as Vice-President, Strategic Accounts, SAP India and has over 15 years of experience in the
industry. For the past six years, he has been leading multiple software business operations within SAP. He has also been recognized for leading the engineering benchmarking programs that drive customer satisfaction.
