Apple is about to face some serious competition from the pioneer of the Internet Era-Microsoft Corp. If reports are to be believed, the Internet giant has built a tablet PC to rival the iPad. Shown in a series of videos, the Courier tablet computer as it's called, is a touchscreen device that assists users' in organising their digital life, including managing contacts, sending e-mails and surfing the Web, reports The Telegraph.

The device opens like a diptych-across two screens, like a book, and both can be operated using touch or a stylus. It can apparently recognise a user’s handwriting, is less than an inch thick and measures approximately 12.5 cm by 17.5 cm (5" x 7" ). Eschewing the ubiquitous Windows 7, it is powered by the Tegra 2 operating system, which also powers the Zune HD. Technology site Engadget is saying that the Courier will also feature a built in camera and a headphone jack for music/video playback.
