It can happen only in Japan! Electronics giant Toshiba recently launched Cell TV, a set-top box, strikingly similar to the Apple TV, made by Apple, but capable of zooming a high-definition 1080p signal to an unbelievable 2160p – also known as 4k, reports The Telegraph.

The device is powered by a cell processor which creates signals that are in sync with the forthcoming Quad TV resolution. Toshiba's high-octane box can also record up to six high-definition channels at the same time by using a wireless hard drive. But all this power weighs rather heavy on the wallet – 4K television and accessories are priced the same as 3-D televisions, which cost thousands of pounds, and meant mainly for home cinema lovers. These are designed for the real high end-people, flush with money, who can splash out on massive home theatres.
And for those unhappy by Apple TV, with its mere 720p resolution, Cell TV looks to be a sure shot winner.
