"Subscribe To" Feature Coming To Facebook!

The "Subscribe To" feature will allow users to receive update notifications from friends and pages.

A blogpost from AllFacebook states that, "Facebook is in the process of testing a new feature which lets you subscribe to all the actions of a specific user. In other words, you can receive notifications anytime a specific user takes an action on Facebook." Facebook has responded to this and told the blog, “This feature is being tested with a small per cent of users. It lets people subscribe to friends and pages to receive notifications whenever the person they’ve subscribed to updates their status or posts new content (photos, videos, links or notes).”

There is a brighter side to this feature if we look at it from a Facebook Page perspective. Businesses can now get fans to like as well as subscribe to them. Updates on the wall can be missed but a notification is tough to ignore. The gloomy side to this is, it is potentially damaging if it falls in the wrong hands of jealous “frenemies,” vindictive exes or nosy bosses.
It seems like Facebook's version of Twitter's following feature. A Facebook user who has used this feature told AllFacebook, "By subscribing you don’t miss any updates from people you subscribe to."
