KOM Networks Announces OnBase Integration With KOMpliance

Friday, September 03, 2010 KOM Networks and its OEM partner, Hyland Software, today announced the release of an integration for KOMpliance. A secure archive storage solution for OnBase disk groups, KOMpliance is designed to secure, protect and enforce retention of electronic information, strengthen data security, and leverage existing storage infrastructure.

This allows businesses large and small across all industries to meet the most stringent regulatory compliance requirements.

The seamless integration of KOMpliance with OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise content management (ECM) software suite, demonstrates the two companies’ commitment to simplify the customer experience. Much of the value of the integration derives from how it combines the familiarity of OnBase with a standard file system interface. This provides the simplicity of direct address access, secure storage and file protection using a standard file system.

“We are excited to add the KOMpliance integration,” said Bill Filion, VP of product development for Hyland Software. “This provides our customers with another good option for securing and protecting their data. It requires no application changes and can be implemented immediately into the existing IT environment. Nothing changes for the user or administrator and the policies managed by OnBase are automatic and transparent.”

KOMpliance is available in a variety of configurations, is fully redundant, and can be scaled to meet a wide range of performance requirements and storage capacity demands. The integration is available with the release of OnBase 10, and requires minimal effort to implement. This integrated solution specifically addresses the customers’ budgetary constraints and compliance requirements to mitigate the risks of data loss, data corruption, accidental deletion, and viruses without impacting existing business process and workflow.

“The benefits of this solution to extend data protection, meet compliance requirements, simplify storage management, and provide comprehensive information lifecycle management, is well known to OnBase users who have implemented KOMpliance,” said Kamel Shaath, CTO for KOM Networks. “The level of flexibility available allows OnBase users a broad range of customization to strengthen data protection and retention.”

The data stored in OnBase is obviously critical to Hyland customers. If that data becomes lost, stolen, corrupted or otherwise compromised, there is a wide range of possible consequences, some of which can be quite severe and costly. KOMpliance prohibits unauthorized access of retained data, protects files from being manipulated or deleted, and automatically enforces OnBase retention and destruction policies. The integration provides additional levels of security against both internal and external threats.

KOM Networks is extending to OnBase users the opportunity to take advantage of its Junk-A-Juke upgrade program. This unique program provides a new enterprise class KOMpliance unit free of charge with a three year maintenance agreement in exchange for obsolete and legacy storage devices. All proceeds generated from the recycling will benefit Feed The Children and its affiliate FTC Canada who are currently helping children on the Gulf Coast and in Haiti. KOM’s goal is to collect and recycle enough hardware to feed one million children!
