A new Google doodle, released on 7 September, featuring dozens of bouncing coloured balls continues to be shrouded in mystery with the Internet rife with speculation about what it might mean. The search engine, on the other hand, has declined to comment on rumours whether it was intended as its 12th birthday celebration.

A Google source told Telegraph.co.uk that users would not be able to guess what it was just from looking at the logo, adding "We are happy to perpetuate the mystery.”
On Tuesday, the California-headquartered company replaced the colourful logo, or “doodle” as it is popularly known as, on its home page with a collection of dancing balls. The company has been frequently changing its everyday logo for years now, to celebrate significant events, holidays or pay tribute to artists, scientists and others.
As reported by AFP, some Web commentators noted that Tuesday is Google's 12th birthday while others said the doodle may have to do with a press conference about search being held at Google headquarters on Wednesday.
Usually, the search giant makes it clear what's being celebrated, but this time Google's official statement merely says: "Today's doodle is fast, fun and interactive, just the way we think search should be," leaving the new doodle as a mystery.
