'Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship Test’ Completes 20 Years In IT

India’s largest IT Scholarship Program— ‘Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship Test’ will be conducted on Sunday, September 19, 2010 by leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’s largest IT Trainer, NIIT, across the country.

This year also marks the 20^th Anniversary of Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship.
The 20-year old Annual Scholarship program rewards fee waivers to meritorious students and graduates desirous of building successful careers in diverse industries that require Information Technology skills. NIIT plans to offer scholarship to the students in the country, this year, based on their performance in a competitive written test, followed by a personal interview. This scholarship is merit based, depending on performance in the test and the interview.
The application forms for the test are available at NIIT education centers across the country. Students can also log on to *www.niit.com/bjs2010* to get more details. *The last date for receipt of application is September 18, 2010.*
Speaking on the Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarships*, *Mr. G. Raghavan, President- Global Individual Learning Solutions, NIIT, said, *“/NIIT introduced the Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship program 20 years ago to enable financially challenged meritorious students to pursue a career in IT and add to the nation's trained manpower base. The 20^th Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarship for GNIIT offers merit based scholarships on NIIT’s flagship program–GNIIT, amongst others. We believe our initiative will go a long way in guiding meritorious students into the IT domain/”.*
With the theme ‘The future won’t take care of itself….I will’, this year’s program will offer Merit based fee waivers on NIIT’s Flagship IT career training program – GNIIT, amongst others. This is NIIT’s endeavour towards enhancing employability of meritorious students and making them job ready to meet the industry needs. As a part of the high aptitude community, they also get to pursue Global Vendor Certification backed program and get the benefit of collaborative learning.
With the return of strong hiring outlook, industry would be on the lookout for job-ready talent. As per NASSCOM’s latest estimates the industry headcount addition is expected to double this year to touch 200,000 new employees, leading to 2.5 million direct employment. The IT BPO exports market is expected to grow by 13-15 percent and the domestic market by 15-17 percent.
According to NASSCOM, the IT industry will witness a healthy growth in this year, led by growth in the core markets and supplemented by significant contributions from emerging markets. The growth in the domestic
IT-BPO spend is driven by a robust economy, increased IT spending by government and adoption of IT by SMBs.
Students who have completed their Class XIIth or equivalent, those currently pursuing graduation and/or completed graduation in any stream, and Polytechnic diploma holders are eligible for NIIT Bhavishya Jyoti Scholarships. The scholarship will be offered on a wide range of NIIT programs including GNIIT and NIIT Globalnet+.
Bhavishya Jyoti is one of India’s most recognized and trusted scholarship test with 20 years of market presence and more than 3.6 lakh students benefiting from the scholarship till date, with over 57000 students taking the exam last year alone.
