| Hi Paul. Thanks for sharing your views on my article. You spoke about the need of Indian consumer wrt USB OTG, well, I would like to tell you that USB OTG for reading pen drives is a common function in almost all low end tablets. So that's no big deal for us. As far as memory slot and other problems quoted in the story are concerned, these are faced by consumers in reality across the globe. The story simply alerts the potential buyers to check their device when delivered and take an informed buying decision. Lastly, just because it's a low priced device, doesn't mean that essential features and quality should be be compromised, especially when the device is supported by brands like Google and ASUS. |

| Wow these are very uninformed reasons to not buy this tablet.Nexus 7 cannot read your pen driveWhat tablet can I have 3 Android tablets an iPad 1 and an iPad 2. None of which can read usb drives. I dont think anyone ever expected a tablet to.so you cannot plug in your pen drive to watch movies.Nobody expects this. And you cans till watch your movies every other way.Theres hardly any apps in Android 4.1 Jelly BeanYou can however run EVERY OTHER ANDROID TABLET APP EVER. Just because there arent many that take advantage of the new JB features yet doesnt mean you dont have apps.No expandable memory slotWow this is actually true. Although for a $199 tablet with 16GB of internal space this isnt really expected.Screen separation .....if you are facing such problems please get it replaced under Googles 15-day return policy. If this is a problem getting a new one wont solve it. What you are saying is that there are some bad devices with a new device. This literally happens with every mass-produced product. Its only a point to note if it happens a lot which this doesnt.Charging complainThis is a legitimate problem but again not common.Zeigler even called Google Customer Support which replied that the company does not provide warranty on Nexus 7 units sold through local retailers and insisted Zeigler to check with the retailer. This is retarded. The law is that your contract is with whomever sold you the product. If I buy a TV and have problems I dont go to the company I go to the person that bought me the TV. He is obliged by law to sort me out. If I did go to the maufacturer and they tried to sort it out it gets messy with any problems like the device getting further damaged because theres no law saying they should help me at all.Touch problemAgain problem. Not common.Microphone issueLegitimate problem but this should be a warning not a DONT BUY THIS PRODUCT as many users will never actually use the microphone.Ghosting effectKnown issue due to the cheap screen. Its a $199 tablet. Almost all of them around that price range are exactly the same. Again should be a warning. Something like If this will annoy you buy a more expensive tabletSo all-in-all you have around a few warnings enough to put people off buying it and 2 legitimate reasons people shouldnt buy it.Do your research next time. |
