Top 10 Indian Tablets Launched In 2011



The year 2011, undoubtedly goes to tablets. The tablets from India deserve a special mention who matched pace with their international counterparts, giving them rugged competition. One such example is the recently released India-based-LACS, which is targeting a million tablets in one year, clearly showing how serious Indian players are to grab a bigger share of the tablet market.  Also, in our earlier post we had mentioned that the 'Desi' Tablet market is going to thrive in the year 2012. Apart from the above mentioned tabs, Lava also unveiled its plan to enter the tablet market by 2012. According to a report, the company plans to launch its Android-based tablet by February next year. "Lava will launch an Android 2.3-based tablet in February for Rs 5,500. It will be made available bundled with a service provider and will not be available as a standalone device," S N Rai, co-founder and director, Lava International was quoted by Business Line as saying.



The tablet is also expected to sport a 17.8-cm (7-inch) capacitive touchscreen and house a 1 GHz processor. The company that stepped into the mobile phone market with the S12 handset, also announced that it plans to complete this fiscal year with Rs 10 billion in revenue. At the same time, the company has also hinted at entering the smartphone market by March/April next year.
