A Universal 3G USB Dongle From Mercury
No need to buy USB data sticks if you are planning to shift to another 3G service provider. The Mercury 3G Mobile Router supports all GSM providers and you just need to have a 3G SIM card to get connected.
Now, you do not need to unlock your 3G USB Stick for using a SIM card of any other service provider. Also, you don't need to buy different dongles for using Internet service of different telecos. Kobian under its Mercury brand has introduced a 3G universal mobile router, which supports all GSM service providers in India. Just buy a 3G SIM and plug it in this router to experience seamless Internet browsing. The router comes along with a rechargeable lithium - ion battery which lasts for five hours.
"Mercury 3G Mobile Router provides a broadband speed of up to 7.2 Mbps and supports all GSM providers. Also, this portable router can provide Wi-Fi connectivity to six devices. The router has a battery back-up of five hours which differentiates it from other products," said Sushmita Das, country manager, India, Kobian.
The router can be switched between modem and router modes. In the modem mode, 3G Mobile Router acts as a dongle and provides Internet connectivity only to the host through USB. In the router mode, the dongle will turn into a Hot-Spot and serve as a router providing Internet access to 6 different devices, added Das.

When asked about the Internet browsing speed if six devices are connected to router, Das repiled, "Internet bandwidth would be from the ISP to the 3G-SIM card. Though there would be additional users on the same connection, concurrent signal won't be sent by all users at the same time. Hence, there shall be negligible speed drop and the speed drop won't be that visible."
As USB 3G routers can send Wi-Fi signal alone, but not receive Wi-Fi and re-transmit to other devices, so connecting the router to a cell phone Wi-Fi hotspot to provide connectivity to another six devices will not work. Tata Docomo has a similar product in the market.
The 3G router comes along with a price tag of Rs 5,200 and a year warranty. So, why buy several dongles when one can get Internet connectivity through a single mobile router.
