Micromax A116 Canvas HD Better Than Samsung Galaxy Grand?
Check out the spec sheet comparison, which clearly reveals that Micromax A116 Canvas HD offers more value for money than Samsung Galaxy Grand.
Samsung has just launched its Galaxy Grand smartphone in the Indian market and is expected to be available at retail stores by the first week of February. With the looks of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone, the Grand somewhat could not excite us with its entry in the above Rs 20,000 market. Meanwhile, Micromax played smartly with its A116 Canvas HD smartphone. Promising a quad core chipset along with looks of Google's Nexus S smartphone, Micromax A116 Canvas HD might prove to be fatal for Samsung's grandeur! However, things might not be so easy for Micromax, given Samsung's fan following.

The spec sheet comparison clearly reveals that Micromax A116 Canvas HD offers more value for money. Now, here are the few minus points of the Samsung Galaxy Grand, which Samsung fans might find hard to accept.
S3 like design:
After Samsung launched its Galaxy S3 smartphone, majority of the smartphones from Samsung's kitty followed the same design. I think it's time to wish Samsung 'A very happy new year!' We want to see a new design in a new year. Apart from the size, the Galaxy S3, Note 2, Galaxy S Duos, Grand and others, all look the same. It seems Samsung has got too much inspiration from nature (recall the tag of S3). Obviously, no one will want a smartphone worth Rs 35,000 to look exactly similar to a Rs 15,000 smartphone.
Low on display quality:
What is so grand in Galaxy Grand apart from its size and price tag. Samsung is offering a 12.7-cm (5-inch) WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels at 187 ppi, but is this good enough for a smartphone priced at Rs 21,500? No. Samsung could have delivered more. On the other hand, Indian handset maker, Micromax is offering a 12.7-cm (5-inch) IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels at 294 ppi for a price under Rs 15,000.
Unknown chipset:
Samsung has not mentioned the name of the chipset that they are using in its Galaxy Grand. It has been speculated that Grand is based on an inferior Broadcom chipset. So, if this is true, then it's a sad situation. On the other hand, Micromax uses a better chip made by Mediatek.
Overall, there's nothing so special with the Galaxy Grand and Micromax A 116 Canvas HD is offering the same or infact a better spec sheet at approximately Rs 6,500 less.

I think after a116 they might come with canvas hd2 version with better resolution
They are coming with canvas 3 A120 but the launch and specifications are not yet released.
quality of samsung is not good..... but people still prefer i dont know why............
With such high end phones u should not go for pathetic brands like micromax for two reasons1. Low build quality.2.Bad social image.
i think canvas hd has 2MP front camera not VGA.

just by seeing higher number we cant say its d best....micromaxs processor is mediatex which is made in china and its a chinas company....since its chine made u can get mmx at lower price no big deal in it...actually mmx price would be still lower than what mmx wll be announcing....
do you know that even great Apple phone are made in China china do not means a bad quality they also make great quality product dont forget that...
MMX firstly - not a china company - its Indian company. the Promoters are Indian. But the Product is made in China like most other phones. Samsung - Korean Company..even it outsources most of the job to china.....so its not a big deal....
Mmx could be made in China but still they offer the same spec phone for almost half the price of Samsung which has to be appreciated than criticizing. Where do you think Samsung phone are assembled

No need to hurry to buy it as they are taking 21 working days near to one month for dispatch and no cash on delivery option. Means all money can be used for one full month & further another competitive UMI X2 with less price are coming with full hd option 1980 x 1024 so it will be best option

Mmx front camera is not VGA it's 2mp.
