How To Get Rid Of New 'Compose' Feature On Gmail

The search-engine giant has introduced a new look pop-window for compose mail.

Monday, April 01, 2013 They say changes are constant but too many changes do not bode well. Whenever users adjust to a set of features that Google introduces, the search-engine giant has played spoilt sport by tweaking the features even more. Recently, Google revamped the entire structure of the Images option, which was earlier available with the option to search pictures in terms of specific size (in dimension) to a lot more compact yet non-detailed set-up. And this time, the change has hit the company's mail product, Gmail.

But unlike the previous tweaks, this time around Google is giving you the option to disable, if you don’t like Gmail’s new pop-up compose window.

Gmail, pop up compose, images, feature, new look, update, revamped, mail, send

So how exactly can you do that? Well, Google has included an option to 'temporarily disable' the new view. All one needs to do is compose a new e-mail message, in which the new pop-up window will show up, and then head down to the small arrow in the lower-right corner. A drop-down menu will appear (or in this case, a drop-up window) where you’ll select “Temporarily switch back to old compose.”

Of course, this is just a temporary measure, so we’re not sure how long you’ll be able to keep the old interface before Google permanently switches it back.

The move begs us to question Google's confidence behind the new design but since the option is only “temporarily” allowing users to switch back to the old view, the pop-up windows feature may be available for couple of weeks before moving to the newer version.
