Here's A Glimpse Of The Fab Life That Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg Lives!  
She has net worth of $1.1 billion and is one of the wealthiest women in tech!

Saturday, August 02, 2014 Though Sheryl Sandberg lives in a stunning contemporary house in Silicon Valley with her husband and two children, she prefers to stay low and simple. She comes from the government background and has worked hard to reach up to the top of two major tech companies. She is now working on a movement to change women’s position in the workforce and also took support of many celebrities. Here are some little-known facts about the lady:

1. Born on 28 August, 1969, in Washington DC, she has two younger siblings: brother named David and sister Michelle. The family moved to North Miami Beach when Sheryl was only two years old.

2. Her father was an opthamologist while her mother taught French at a local college. The couple together, founded the South Florida Conference on Soviet Jewry through a local synagogue and their home became haven for Soviet Jews looking to escape anti-semitism.

3. She did really well in her school. “In public school, for a girl to be smart was not good for your social life”, said her mother Adele.

4. She took admission in Harvard, where she studied with treasury secretary, Larry Summers and graduated at the top of the economics department.

5. Summers also served as a mentor for Sheryl, in her beginning phase of career. When Summers became Secretary of Treasury in 1999, Sheryl was chief of his staff.

6. As Democrats lost 2000 elections, she moved to Silicon valley to join the booming tech industry. At the time, Google was very small and no consistent revenue and she found company’s mission attractive. She joined Google as business-unit general manager in 2001.

7. Google grew immensely under her leadership and she was promoted as VP for global online sales and operations. After seven years, she was ready for another challenge and started meeting Facebook head, Mark Zuckerberg.

8. After six weeks of dinner meetings, Zuckerberg offered her COO job. Zuckerberg told the New Yorker, “There are people who are really good managers, people who can manage a big organisation”. “And then there are people who are very analytical, and these two people don’t tend to be the same person. Sandberg celebrated her six year anniversary this March.

9. She married her longtime best friend, SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg in 2004.

10. Last year, the couple completed construction on 9,210 square foot home in Menlo Park. It has six bedrooms, a wine room, gym, movie theatre, basketball court and a giant waterfall. Like Facebook’s upcoming headquarters, Sandberg home has living roof which includes rows of solar panels.

11. She is known as strict advocate of women’s rights in workplace. In 2011, she highlighted troubling stats about working women in TED talk which has more than 4 million views till date,

12. In March 2013, she published her book, “Lean In”, which recounts her personal work experience and some healthy advice for women who eyes top slot in a company. Arianna Huffington and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg threw Sandberg a huge party and AOL CEO Tim Armstrong were one of the attendee.

13. Her aim in this book is to provide practical skills they need in order to reach greater heights.

14. Sandberg collaborated with Getty Images to take stock photos, meant to change the perception of working women.

15. “Lean In” will be soon a movie as well. Sony Pictures acquired rights to the film based on this book and earnings will go to Sandberg's foundation.

16. Not everyone seems to be inspired by her idea of lean in. Critics say that confidence is useless if not given proper opportunities to women in order to grow.

17. She and her partner are very much open about their career goals and Sandberg has a rule of leaving work by 5:30 so that she has enough time for her family.

18. Fortune included her in the list of 'Most Powerful Women' since 2005, and she also lead Facebook to revamp its mobile strategy.
