World's top Counter Strike Gaming Team, Fnatic, would be playing exhibition matches with the national winners of the championship.

Reliance World has launched GameBox National Championship 2007 - an online gaming championship -- in India. The championship will be held in 240 Reliance World outlets across 104 cities in India between 13 and 28 January. More than 20,000 gaming enthusiasts are expected to participate in the championship.

Commenting on GameBox National Championship 2007, Sarup Chowdhary, CEO, Reliance World, said, "The Gamebox National Championship gives an opportunity to gamers across India to test their skills at this action-packed, thrilling online gaming event. Multiplayer online gaming is one of the key broadband applications at Reliance World outlets."
"We have invited Fnatic - world's top Counter Strike team to be at the finals. This being Fnatic's first visit to the country will help the Indian winners to learn and improve their game to compete at the World Level," said Sunil Buch, head, marketing and product management, Reliance World.
The championship includes popular games such as Counter Strike 1.6, Half Life 2: Death Match, Need for Speed: Underground, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne and The Age of Mythology.
The championship will be conducted at four levels. The first level would begin at Reliance World outlets between 13 and 17 January 2007. Winners from this level will fight it out at the circle level between 18 and 20 January 2007 and zonal levels on 21 and 22 January 2007. The zonal winners will lock horns at the national finals on 28 January at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The national winners would win cash prizes worth Rs 10 lakh.
The Gamebox National Championship 2007 would be supported by Zapak as the casual gaming partner, Big FM as the radio partner, MTV as the TV partner and Skoar as the print partner. The championship is co-sponsored by Nvidia.

| I am from Burdwan.I have registered my name in this championship for Half Life 2 deathmatch.There are 13 players also joined fron our city.but i have been facing a problem since fron the start of the game.At the compitation there are not many members coming to compete.I am the only player left.But RWW saying that there should be 8 players to compete in this game and if not i will be eleminated automatically.i will not be able to compete any farther.If it is real then i will be devastated and shoked because it is not a proper justice.My name is sabyasachi chatterjee{demolisher07-id} |
