Saturday, February 03, 2007:
Suncom has introduced MyQuest, which it claims is, India's first directory service on mobile phones, that facilitates directory services and easy location of places along with other value additions for foreigners and locals in India. The directory service is basically provided on two mediums: SMS and Web.
|
|
Web (www.myquest.in) gives an open-search option so that any individual not knowing the name or category or the exact location can yet search for his required want. To use the SMS medium to access any information, a user can SMS 'Q' followed by his search to 4646. For example, Q Chinese restaurants in GK; Q 4 star hotels in Gurgaon; Q bars in Noida; Q 24 hour chemists in New Delhi; Q hospitals in South Delhi; Q ATM’s in West Delhi.
The directory service is a comprehensive database of Delhi NCR. However, in the coming months, Suncom plans to expand the service to other parts of the country, providing company information from retail stores, malls, companies, emergency numbers, government ministries, PSUs, lawyers, doctors, electricians, bars, restaurants, printing companies, automotive spare parts, garages, dealers, banks, insurance companies, service providers etc.
Suncom also provides maps and direction on Web, WAP and SMS, in addition to the converter service. MyQuest is available with Airtel, Hutch, Tata, Reliance (CDMA) and IDEA. To avail this service, an SMS will cost Rs 3, whereas the service is absolutely free for the customers on Web and WAP.
