Moser Baer Partners With Deutsche Solar

Under the agreement, Deutsche will supply silicon wafers to Moser Baer.

Moser Baer Photo Voltaic Ltd (MBPV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Moser Baer India Ltd (MBI), has tied up with Deutsche Solar, a global silicon wafer manufacturer and part of the Germany-based Solar World AG Group, for the supply of silicon wafers.

Commenting on the strategic alliance, Ravi Khanna, CEO, Moser Baer Photo Voltaic Ltd, said, "This arrangement will ensure that we have an assured supply of silicon wafers of top quality at competitive prices. With the agreement, we have secured over 50 per cent of our short- to medium- term requirement of silicon."
According to Dr P. Woditsch, CEO, Deutsche Solar AG, "Moser Baer has already demonstrated their global leadership position in the high-tech manufacturing businesses, and we believe MBPV is equipped to take an eminent position in the fast-growing global photovoltaic business."
MBPV plans to clearly straddle multiple future technologies and emerge as an engineering- and technology-driven company.
