Google Appoints Shailesh Rao As MD

Google has appointed Shailesh Rao as managing director, sales and operations for Google India. Based in New Delhi, Shailesh will manage Google's domestic business and strategic partnerships in India.

"As we continue to invest in India, Shailesh will focus on building a strong sales and operations team, developing Google's strategic partnerships and enhancing our relationships with industry and government. We have received a very encouraging response from users in India and Shailesh's appointment will be instrumental during this period of growth and development," said Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, vice president, Asia Pacific & Latin America Operations, Google Inc.

Shailesh Rao brings a wealth of experience with him having most recently served as director for Google based at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, California. In this role, Shailesh was responsible for growing Google's local search business globally, driving Google's third party channel programmes, as well as managing new content partnership programmes on a worldwide basis. Prior to Google, Shailesh was vice president of products for Yodlee managing all aspects of product and corporate development for Yodlee's core products and technology.
Shailesh has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania with Honors, a BS from the Wharton School with a concentration in finance, and an MBA from The Kellogg School of Management.
