The second edition of Proto.in, an event showcasing technology start-ups and products, will be held on 21 July and 22 July 2007, in Chennai. Held bi-annually at IIT Madras, this two-day event is organised by a national network of entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts identified as 'The Knowledge Foundation'.

Twenty VC firms have confirmed participation for Proto.in second edition, including Sequoia Capital, Canaan Partners, Matrix Partners, Greylock Partners, Mentor Partners, Clearstone Ventures, Band of Angels, amongst others. NASSCOM, IAMAI, TiE and TeNeT are providing active support for the event.
Highlighting the objective of the event, Vijay Anand, chief organiser, Proto.in, said, "What India needs currently is an environment that encourages and supports innovation and entrepreneurship in technology. Proto.in is a significant effort in this direction. It is a platform that recognises and nurtures breakthroughs in technology. With support from the industry and related associations, Proto.in is sure to alter India's technoscape."
Technology start-ups ready to showcase their products can nominate themselves by logging on to www.proto.in. Nomination window is open till 15 June 2007.
