SolidWorks Bullish Over Indian Market

The company has announced an increased focus in India to help companies leverage 3D CAD technology to design better products and gain global market share in engineering design.

Recognising India's strong growth potential in high-value manufacturing design space, SolidWorks Corporation has fast-tracked its investments and plans in India. The company has appointed Manoj Mehta as the Indian country manager to tap into the Indian market and strengthen its position.

Manoj has over 19 years of experience and has held key positions in direct sales, distribution, retail and channel management at Hewlett Packard (HP) and Philips. Prior to joining SolidWorks, Manoj was the country manager of corporate/government sales for supplies business at Hewlett Packard India Ltd. Manoj's experience in the sales channels will help SolidWorks expand and develop its value-added reseller (VAR) network in India and better serve its customers.
According to Ved Narayan, vice president, SolidWorks, Asia-Pacific operations, "Our customers are at the core of our business and our VAR expansion plan is centered around our customers as well. Our VARs will be located in key geographic regions and possess strong vertical industry expertise so that they can better understand and meet the needs of our customers. We believe this is critical in helping our customers design better products and achieve the competitive edge."
In addition, SolidWorks has embarked on a major expansion drive in India since last year. This year, SolidWorks has aggressive plans to expand its VAR network and increase its India employee headcount.
