Samsung SGH-U700 Clinches European Mobile Phone Award

The SGH-U700 HSDPA mobile phone from Samsung Electronics has won the European Mobile Phone 2007-2008 award by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). The award recognises excellence in handset design and technology innovation.

As part of the Samsung Ultra Edition II lineup, Samsung’s SGH-U700 offers the most advanced up-to-date multimedia technologies with High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) at 3.6 Mbps and also supports video telephony functionality to enhance multimedia features, Samsing said. Samsung’s Ultra Edition 12.1 (U700) comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera in an ultra-slim profile and boasting a 2.2” wide TFT LCD wide screen.
Accepting the award, Dr David Steel, vice president, telecommunications network business, Samsung, said, “This is an important recognition of the progress that we have made in the European market and our mobile phones that have become very popular with European consumers. With SGH-U700, Samsung will continue to deliver the best possible user experience in the most attractive design to satisfy mobile phone users in Europe.”
