Saturday, October 06, 2007:
SafeNet, Inc., an information security company, has launched its solutions for securing mobile business and entertainment applications in India. Options like free-to-air, monthly subscriptions, premium channels, pay-per-view and pay-per-time all have a place in the mobile TV landscape, so protecting their content is equally important. By integrating SafeNet's Toolkit4TVstandards-based DRM technology, content owners can be assured that their content is protected from piracy, while allowing operators to licence a greater variety of programming.

While Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC)-- the combination of mobile, wireless and fixed access into a single network infrastructure -- has enabled telecom operators to provide subscribers access to the hottest multimedia applications and high-speed data connectivity, it has also opened the service providers' infrastructure to Internet-type security threats such as denial of service attacks, privacy violations, billing and services fraud, and intellectual property theft. SafeNet provides embedded security systems that enable telecom equipment and device manufacturers to cost effectively address these threats by building IMS-based network protection into security gateways and networking devices.
With SafeNet's QuickSec and SoftRemote IPSec security platforms, telecom companies can differentiate their service offerings and increase revenue while integrating the following security features directly into their system: robust user authentication and access control; SIP security - secure signalling and content encryption with IPSec; attack prevention (DOS); stateful firewall with network address translation (NAT); and MOBIKE support ensuring continuity of mosessions.
SafeNet showcased the solutions at the 13th Annual India Telecommunications International Summit, between 3 and 5 October 2007 at the Shangri-la Hotel in New Delhi.
