Tuesday, November 27, 2007:
NuVeda Learning has rolled out its second Plus2Plus programme, designed to address the need gap in the BPO sector which faces high-attrition rates by bringing in employable people from the weaker section (bottom of pyramid - BOP) into mainstream society. This two-year programme is a joint project by NuVeda Learning and Murugan Trust.

|
The programme picks out sixty Plus 1 and Plus 2 students from financially weak family backgrounds with a monthly household income of Rs 5,000 or less. Over a period of two years, these students would be trained in soft skills to ensure their employability and a developed personality. The skills include: written and oral English language training, personality development, goal setting, basic computer skills in MS Office Suite, Internet skills and e-mail etiquette, and also resume writing.
Commenting on the second Plus2Plus programme, Lakshmi Vasan, director, NuVeda Learning, said, "NuVeda would like to ensure that the economically disadvantaged children are provided access to well-paying jobs by training them in a few critical job-related skills. We would like to equip them and build the bridge with the BPO industry. We believe this is true win-win for everyone."
The first batch of 60 students is already one year into the programme. The programme is held at MGR Adarsh Public School in JJ Nagar, and sponsored by The Punjab Association and Murugan Trust.
