AXIOM Opens R&D Centre In Manipal

AXIOM Design Automation India, a semiconductor design solutions company, has established a R&D facility in Manipal. The facility will house a team of engineers contributing to AXIOM’s high-end ASIC design and verification solutions line. With this, AXIOM has become the first semiconductor design solution company to set up facility in the region, it said. AXIOM is all set to more than double their headcount in the region to reach over 70 engineers by end of 2008.

Also to develop domain expertise in the area, AXIOM is partnering with Manipal University (MCIS) to empower education in the domain of ASIC design and verification by donating tools worth over $0.5 million and organising several workshops for the faculty members. Going forward, the company will partner more universities for this initiative.
According to Ravi Shankar, managing director, AXIOM Design Automation, India, said, “With Mangalore as our extended arm, we are all set to record over 100 per cent growth in our overall revenues by next year. Mangalore becomes our obvious choice with its growing talent base and expanding number of engineering colleges. At the same time, lower infrastructure costs and affordable cost of living is a good reason for companies like us to set up facilities in Mangalore.”
