Monday, December 24, 2007 Buffalo Inc. has launched the first-ever 400GB portable external hard drive (HD-PS400U2) in the MiniStation series. The MiniStation TurboUSB 5400rpm hard drive not only helps the users to store large amounts of data on the move, but also benefits them from Buffalo’s TurboUSB technology, which is said to speed up file transfer rates and performance upto 64 per cent.

The new version of the MiniStation also comes complete with a wrap-around cable for easy storage. With the ability to draw power from the PC it is connected to, it requires no external power supply providing a lightweight storage solution that is ideal for mobile users.

With 'Plug-n-Play' USB capabilities, the MiniStation can connect to any USB 2.0 port on a desktop, laptop or Buffalo network attached storage device where the software is loaded. It also features Buffalo’s Secure Lock Ware (SLW) utility, which offers drive and file encryption to protect data with up to 256bit AES Encryption technology. Data can be protected further using the multilingual Memeo Auto Backup software for Windows, which offers improved backup options, including scheduled backup and password protection, in a number of different languages.

Backed by a limited two-year warranty, the MiniStation 400 GB TurboUSB is available at Rs 19,999.
