Siemens Unveils 3000th Wind Electric Generator For Vestas RRB

Till date, the company has manufactured over 6,000 generators, out of which 2,999 have been supplied to Vestas RRB alone.

Siemens Ltd has released its 3000th wind electric generator manufactured for Vestas RRB at its Kalwa factory. Siemens has been supplying generators in the range of 225kW to 600kW to Vestas RRB since 1992 and till date has manufactured 2,999 generators for Vestas RRB alone.
According to Vijay Paranjape, director, Siemens Ltd, "In recent years, due to the widening demand-supply gap in power generation as well as various environmental issues, there is a lot of focus on the wind energy sector.

The Indian market potential for the wind energy sector alone is currently estimated at 45,000MW, of which less than 20 per cent has been realised till date. It is really heartening to have companies like Vestas RRB, who have come forward to provide the much-needed clean and green power not only to India but also to its customers across the globe."
"This 3000th generator, manufactured for our single client Vestas RRB, reinforces the customer's trust in Siemens. Considering the total generators supplied till date to Vestas RRB and our other clients, we can now proudly claim to have contributed over 4GW of Wind Energy.
