AppLabs has announced ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives under the AppLabs Charitable Trust (ACT), a philanthropic wing of the company started with a special focus on education and health care.

Makarand Teje, president and chief operating officer, AppLabs, said, "We have chosen education and healthcare as our two areas of focus and we are making a visible impact with commitment of over 2000 global AppLabsees for these causes."
AppLabs works with four schools in Hyderabad, India. It is also closely working with Nirmal Hriday, an NGO run by Mother Teresa Charitable Trust. Other initiatives include holding quarterly blood donation camps, organised in association with the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust in Hyderabad. ACT also collaborates with premier hospital/healthcare institutions, as well as supports organisations, which runs schools for underprivileged and physically challenged children.
"Corporate Social Responsibility at AppLabs involves employee participation at all levels. AppLabs always has and will continue to support causes where we can see some measurable results of our collective efforts. The sheer joy of giving back to the society gives our employees immense satisfaction," added Arun Rao, vice president, HR, AppLabs.
ACT also regularly organises voluntary donation camps called 'SAMARPAN', to collect old clothes, books, household and stationary items, and the proceeds of which are distributed to old age homes, schools for the mentally challenged, as well as to slums and villages in and around Hyderabad.
Recently in Scotland, AppLabs employees volunteered their time to build footpaths in Selm Muir forest to help improve accessibility to the woodland site. The AppLabs US office initiatives included 'Operation Christmas Stocking', wherein the employees extended support to the US troops in the Middle East, by collecting useful items to send to them for Christmas. The AppLabs Lindon office employees regularly donate gifts for families that are unable to afford them, as well collect canned food from the employees to help fill up the local food bank.
