Thursday, April 10, 2008 Bengaluru-based Yos Technologies, the upcoming company in the healthcare IT domain, has introduced a 'DiabetesCare' package -- which will be a new feature of YosCare, the comprehensive personal healthcare system recently launched by the company. DiabetesCare includes various tools such as Diabetes Diary, Diabetes Monitor and Insulin Assistant.

YosCare includes personal health records (PHRs), healthcare tools and applications for preventive and continuous care. With YosCare, users can store their health records online, access this from anywhere, anytime using PC or mobile and generate various health reports. In addition, users will be able to manage their complete health calendar, have access to health information and self-help tools like health calculators, health-risk assessment tools, etc. through their personalised health portal.

Announcing the 'DiabetesCare' package, Vijaya Verma, founder and CEO, Yos Technologies, said, “DiabetesCare includes various tools such as a Diabetes Diary, that enables patients to record information about their ongoing health status, diet/exercise patterns, general well being, medicine intake, and more, a Diabetes Monitor that allows patients to closely measure and monitor various health parameters like random blood sugar, fasting blood sugar, etc., as well as an Insulin Assistant that will alert them of the insulin dosage they need to take based on their sugar level.”

“Additionally, with YosCare, a diabetic can very easily update all relevant information into his/her YosCare account using either PC or mobile. The entry will get recorded with the date and time. Subsequently, the user can graph the entries over a required time line and also print associated diary entries which can be very handy to a doctor to understand the patient's lifestyle patterns and hence improve the efficacy of the treatment. Patients will also have access to a comprehensive diabetes guide, health tips to better understand their condition and control blood glucose levels,” added Verma.
