Sun To Set Up Education Centre At Amity Noida
 
The partnership with Sun will facilitate the Amity University to impart technical education on Java and Solaris technologies.

Thursday, June 26, 2008 Sun Microsystems India and Amity have joined forces to offer globally renowned curriculum to provide Amity students in India with access to Sun technologies. As per the deal, Sun will set up an Authorized Sun Education Center (ASEC) at the Amity University campus in Noida. This ASEC will offer training and certification to students across Amity. A faculty development programme will be conducted on a continuing basis to empower the university faculty.

Further, Sun Learning Services Official Course material will form part of the recognised and recommended textbooks for all computer science and IT courses at Amity.




The partnership will help Amity to leverage upon Sun's expertise on Java and Solaris technologies as well as update their existing curriculum using Sun's resource library.

The partnership with Sun will facilitate the Amity University to -- impart technical education on Java and Solaris technologies; access worldwide curriculum on Sun's technologies; Learning Path that is developed with industry-recognised certification; Train-the-trainer programmes for the faculty will help ensure that Amity's faculty are trained on the latest technology; enhanced visibility for the University on a global scale and enhanced placement and job opportunities; access to Sun's Certification solutions.

A unique faculty development programme, which will package the advantages of Sun's academically superior curriculum with Sun's industry expertise and market leadership, will form the basis of our solution for Amity," said Bhaskar Gandhavadi, chief learning officer, Sun Microsystems India.
