Nokia, F-Secure, TeliaSonera Join Hands
 
F-Secure and Nokia are bringing their solutions to TeliaSonera in a new way, to facilitate effective mobile device management for the SME segment.

Thursday, September 18, 2008 Mobile devices with access to corporate data and Internet need to be protected against the constantly evolving security threats. This is driving the need for administrators to be able to remotely configure and manage mobile devices in the same way as desktop systems. Nokia, F-Secure and TeliaSonera have joined hands to facilitate effective mobile device management for the SME segment.




TeliaSonera will provide device management for SMEs as a hosted service for its enterprise customers. The Managed Device solution combines the Nokia Intellisync Device Management platform and F-Secure Mobile Security solution, which together enable security for the company’s entire mobile fleet. TeliaSonera’s Managed Device concept will provide corporations with a solution to utiliSe the full potential of mobile devices and services in an easy-to-use package.

Commenting on the co-operation between F-Secure, Nokia and TeliaSonera, Samu Konttinen, VP, mobile solution business, F-Secure, said, “This co-operation enables improved mobile services for the SME segment as companies are facing a greater need to manage their employees’ devices, as well as the transfer of applications and data. It also creates synergies for all parties involved and shows that innovative business models can truly be beneficial and create added value for all parties involved.”

According to Lauri Immonen, product manager, customer network security, broadband services, TeliaSonera, “It is evident that the SME and corporate segment need easy-to-use mobile solutions that are truly interoperable. Combined, the Nokia Intellisync Device Management and F-Secure Mobile Security solutions create the right platform that TeliaSonera will be able to bring to IT managers in the SME and corporate segment, easing their worries about how to manage and secure mobile devices that are packed with mission-critical and company confidential information.”

”Nokia Intellisync Device Management allows the IT managers to control the flow of information to and from employees’ devices and the company server, as well as lock and wipe misplaced or stolen devices and removable media, protecting company assets,” said Tarmo Jukarainen, director, enterprise software, Nokia Software and Services. “With a flexible solution that works with companies’ current and future IT investments, Nokia provides IT Managers with a cost-effective solution that’s designed for the way they work.”
