Plustek has introduced the SmartOffice PS286 compact document scanner bundled with ACE Office OMR Solution. With OMR, Plustek SmartOffice PS286 is capable of reading 25 pages per minute and reads both pen and pencil scripts also. It can convert the output data into MS Excel sheet grids instantly without the requirement of special OMR paper input. It can help the schools to print the OMR forms through black and white laser printer on normal paper as per their requirement.

The 50-sheet automatic document tray accepts a variety of documents from business card to legal papers. It is also specially designed for plastic cards such as embossed insurance ID cards and driver licenses. The inbuilt TWAIN and Windows WIA drivers enable the scanner to be compatible with virtually any imaging software. Plustek's SmartOffice PS286 also allows files to be shared over the network.
PS286 comes with pre-set nine customised functions for different scanning needs. For example, one can create searchable PDFs, scan to e-mail, or file documents by pressing a button. The suite of software applications that includes Plustek DI Capture helps users scan, import and organise their document images in an efficient way. Presto! PageManager offers colour OCR and full-text indexing functions. Similarly, ImageFolio is document management software for OCR, PDF creation or conversion to Microsoft Word or Excel etc., maintaining colour and images. It also helps to browse image through its SlideShow applet. Advanced features such as blank page deletion, colour dropout for forms, auto-crop etc., enhances the quality of the scanned document and productivity of the user.
