Undertake a tree plantation drive in partnership with Eco Watch under Oracle's Green Initiatives.

Oracle has announced that hundreds of its employees in India, who volunteer time and resources during the year to enhance the community and environment they live in, are undertaking a tree plantation drive in Bengaluru to celebrate World Environment Day. These employees from Oracle Solution Services India (OSSI) are going to plant over 600 trees at the Eco Education Centre in Avalahalli, Bengaluru.

The initiative has been taken in partnership with Eco Watch, an organisation that works towards promoting sustainable development across cities.
During the event, Oracle volunteers planted over a hundred saplings of a number of different varieties of trees in the Eco Education Centre with the aim of addressing the issue of the depleting green cover in Bengaluru. The employees will continue the tree planting activity over the forthcoming weekends to plant more of the saplings that they have adopted.
Part of Oracle's corporate citizenship and 'Go Green' initiatives undertaken by employees in India, the tree plantation drive seeks to benefit the community where they live and work in.
Shared Vivek Marla, vice president, SSI, Oracle India, “It gives me great pleasure to be part of this initiative where Oracle SSI and its employees have jointly contributed to the environment by adopting and planting trees. For every five trees that employees have contributed, the organisation contributes one, and we now make Bengaluru greener by 600 trees. The tree adoption and plantation is one of our initiatives where we aim to spread awareness about social, health and environment issues as well as make a difference to people and the environment around all of us.”
