Eurocopter Signs Mistral As Technology Partner

Mistral Solutions, a product realisation company specialising in real-time embedded solutions, and a Germany-based helicopter manufacturing company Eurocopter have signed an MoU to jointly collaborate and execute activities in the aerospace and defence domains.

According to the agreement, Mistral will be a technology partner to Eurocopter and will offer engineering services covering hardware design, firmware/embedded software development, systems integration, testing and qualification. This will help Eurocopter to meet its defence offset obligations in relation to several acquisition programmes of the ministry of defence, Government of India.
Under the 'offset programme' laid down by the Government of India, for imports of defence equipment valued above 300 crores, it is mandatory for foreign sellers to spend 30 per cent of the contract value in India; sourcing goods and services from Indian companies. The offset obligation may be fulfilled in the form of co-production, licensed production, technology transfer, outsourcing of components, etc.
The MoU paves the way for a long-term profitable and stable relationship between Mistral and Eurocopter, in fulfilling the challenging requirements of their customers in the defence and aerospace domains, said the company.
