IBM Emerges Leader In India Quality, Life Cycle Tools Market

IBM has maintained the lead in the India application development and application deployment software markets with a 30.5 per cent share in revenue terms during calendar year 2008 (January-December 2008), as per IDC’s India Annual Packaged Software Market Report 2008. As per the same report, IBM also stood as the leader in the India quality and life cycle tools market during CY 2008.
The report said IBM maintained the number one position in the India application development software market with a 33.4 per cent share in revenue terms during calendar year 2008.

IBM led the India application deployment software market with a 27.3 per cent share in revenue terms during calendar year 2008.
IBM emerged as the leader in the India quality and life cycle tools market with a substantial share of 57.9 per cent in revenue terms during calendar year 2008, gaining 4.8 points market share year-on-year (2008 over 2007).
According to Kalyan Sridhar, country manager, rational, IBM Software Group, India/South Asia, "The leadership ranking by IDC re-affirms our application development and application deployment portfolio as a robust, integration intensive and flexible set of software solutions for the entire Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). In today’s economic climate, businesses are looking for new ways to derive greater value from their investments by better utilising software."
