Thursday, July 02, 2009:
Tata Communications has associated with the five-city Frost & Sullivan series of summit conferences on the realisation of the managed services journey using multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) services. Co-sponsored with Cisco, the summit demonstrates the flexibility of MPLS services for delivering voice and data over highly secure virtual private networks (VPN).
Executives considering MPLS VPN managed services are encouraged to attend any of the five events for demonstrations, discussion, and presentations on the benefits of adopting an MPLS infrastructure for WAN connectivity.

Frost & Sullivan will present a detailed framework on the total cost of ownership (TCO) of managed MPLS networks. The presentation will feature a TCO calculator for MPLS adoption, including metrics on applications, branch office requirements, and bandwidth expansion.
"Although most companies are aware of MPLS, many are not aware of the full potential and cost-savings such services can provide enterprises," said Girish Trivedi, deputy director, ICT practice, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia and Middle East. "This presentation and discussion will show how companies can dynamically show TCO benefits of MPLS when introducing various network variables and requirements."
Cisco will demonstrate how MPLS VPN service is more truly private than IPSec VPNs, and how MPLS single-site administration can cut management time and reduce security risks over traditional VPN implementations. "MPLS VPN is a mature technology," said Rajesh Chainani, senior vice president, SP, Cisco India and SAARC. "Enterprises need to be reassured that data travelling over MPLS VPN services are just as secure — or more secure — than over many currently used VPN solutions."
Tata Communications will provide the latest information on how enterprises can realise better productivity through a converged network and a higher level of business continuity by using MPLS VPN.
"Enterprise customers who are reluctant to migrate from their enterprise-managed WAN infrastructures, or have concerns and questions on the reliability and security of MPLS VPN should attend," said Peter Juffernholz, head, MPLS services, Tata Communications. "They'll find that they can not only streamline their IT budgets, but they can also improve the performance, productivity and future growth of their global networks."
Other topics covered include MPLS VPN network management, security, and converged network services. In addition, attendees will learn about MPLS benefits beyond TCO, how managed network services operate, and how to plan and migrate to an MPLS network infrastructure.
The conferences will held on 2nd July in Chennai, 7th July in Hyderabad, 9th July in Bengaluru, 14th July in Mumbai and 16th July in Delhi.
