NIIT Tech To Execute 'Intranet Prahari' For BSF

Under the Intranet Prahari project, NIIT Technologies will set up a central data centre and 10 mini data centres in a total of 230 sector headquarters and battalions.

NIIT Technologies has won a Rs 228 crore contract from the Border Security Force (BSF). As part of the Intranet Prahari project, BSF is connecting all frontiers and battalions across the country. NIIT Technologies will help BSF set up the complete infrastructure, network and applications to facilitate operations management, integrated financial activities and human resources management for the force.

The Border Security Force has over 157 battalions, with another 27 battalions in nine sectors and three more frontiers to be raised in a phased manner. The supply and set-up of the entire infrastructure of the project includes establishment of a central data centre, 10 mini data centres, a disaster recovery centre and infrastructure in a total of 230 sector headquarters and battalions. NIIT Technologies said applications on state-of-the-art technology would be configured and deployed across data centres and remote locations.
"We are privileged to serve the force in this manner. Our rich experience of engaging with and implementing turn-key assignments for paramilitary organisations will add value to our engagement with BSF," said Arvind Thakur, CEO, NIIT Technologies.
NIIT Technologies had executed a similar turn-key engagement for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) called SELO.
