Saturday, March 06, 2010 Nonoba, creator of Flash gaming's first Multiplayer and Payment APIs, today announced a new partnership with PlaySpan Inc., the global leader in monetization solutions for over 1,000 online games, virtual worlds, and social networks.

Under the agreement, PlaySpan licensed Nonoba's GameRise Platform to offer PlaySpan marketplace customers instant access to Nonoba's 4,000+ Flash games created by more than 100 indie developers. In turn, Nonoba's Payment API is integrated with PlaySpan's UltimatePay and UltimatePoints global microtransaction solutions to enable Flash game developers to monetize their games as they spread across the Internet and the 300 GameRise sites existing today.

"Nonoba's advanced technology and loyal developers are the door to an enormous Flash gaming market where ad-supported models have failed to make all but a very few developers a decent living," said Karl Mehta, Founder and CEO of PlaySpan.

GameRise enables anyone - from enthusiasts to professionals - to develop and manage customized gaming sites with any or all of the great community features Nonoba.com is known for. GameRise gives casual game developers and Nonoba's partners customizable gaming sites with full control of the catalog of games, appearance, advertising, and language - up to 26 including Chinese, Hebrew and Indonesian - as well as the ability to manage chat rooms, forum discussions, and mail templates for user feeds about what's happening in the community.

The Nonoba Payment API with UltimatePoints is the first free and open payment solution for Flash games that enables developers to quickly and easily start charging real money for their quality content. Once embedded, the Nonoba Payment API kicks in no matter where on the Internet the game resides. Developers determine the item they want to sell, put a price on it, and every time someone buys it the developer gets 70 percent of the revenue - the same split as on Apple's iPhone App Store. The balance of the revenue is used by Nonoba to cover payment provider fees and management of the purchased items. There are no additional or hidden fees for
hosting, credit card fees, fraud, charge-backs, or marketing expenses. The Nonoba Payment system and UltimatePoints gives developers total flexibility in terms of what they sell - entire games, elements of games, or gameplay, for example - and at any price point from 1¢ to hundreds of dollars.

"Integration of PlaySpan's UltimatePay and UltimatePoints in our Payment API means our developers can now offer payment options to an entirely new and very large population who don't have a credit card to pay for play," said Nonoba Co-founder Chris Benjaminsen. "We believe this is the future of Flash gaming."
