US-based NComputing has added another new device, the M300, to its range of desktop virtualisation tools. The M300, a 3-in-1 thin client, provides rich PC experience to three users simultaneously, that is expandable up to 45 users in environments like shared office workspaces, libraries, labs, classrooms and call centres. Manish Sharma, vice president--Asia Pacific, NComputing, gave a hands-on preview of the M300 to EFYTimes and gave details about its features and functions.

The mix of NComputing hardware and virtualisation software (vSpace) uses the excess computing capacity of one PC or server to create multiple virtual desktops and enables its users to share a single operating system.
There are a host of devices that NComputing has produced over the years that comprise products in the X-series, L-series, U-series and the latest M-series. The software part of these products is powered by the company's vSpace Server Software that creates virtual desktops in the shared PC by dividing the computer's resources into independent sessions.
The company has its presence in countries like the US, Australia, Canada, China, India, Poland, to name a few. According to a Q3 2011 IDC report, NComputing, with a massive share of 89 per cent, secures the top position in being the largest provider of enterprise desktop virtualisation tools in India. The company also equates India as the country to churn out the highest revenue numbers. Moving on to the Asia Pacific region, the company leads the desktop virtualisation market by a share of 45 per cent.
