The newly launched desktop virtualisation solution from Parallels enables Mac users to run multiple instances of Windows as virtual machines, offering smooth integration between Windows programs and Mac OS X.

US-based virtualisation company, Parallels, has launched its latest hardware emulation virtualisation software, Parallels Desktop 7 For Mac in India. The software enables Mac users to run Windows simultaneously on their systems as virtual machines.
After installing the Parallels Desktop 7 For Mac, within the Mac OS X environment users can run several instances of Windows (including support for Windows XP), Linux, and also the OS X Lion with just a click.

According to the company, the software enables seamless integration with Windows programs just like they were made for the Mac machine. The demo actually proved that moving files and accessing programs between various operating systems gets as easy as switching between Windows in the native OS that we are familiar with.
It also enables the Mac's iSight or FaceTime HD camera in both OS X Lion and Windows program. Another feature of the virtualisation software is that it allows users to run Flash videos on their Mac machines via a Windows virtual machine.
"The advantage of our software is that we not only make the migration of programs easier but also make operability of Mac machines much easier by different kind of windows mode. For instance the Coherence Mode offers seamless integration of the Windows apps that gives the user best of the Mac and the Windows worlds," said Jan-Jaap Jager, general manager and VP, Sales, APAC, Parallels.
The Parallels Desktop 7 For Mac is available at a price of Rs 3,999, through the company's exclusive distribution partner, Redington.
