Java User Group, Chennai is hosting a free and open event called JavaFX with Stephen Chin on 5 May 2012 in Chennai. Chin has been a popular name of JavaFx since its inception. He is a leader for projects like JFXtras (http://code.google.com/p/jfxtras/), ScalaFX (http://code.google.com/p/scalafx/), WidgetFX (http://code.google.com/p/widgetfx/), Visage- also used for visageFX, Visage-Vaadin and Visage-Android (http://code.google.com/p/visage/), Apropos (http://code.google.com/p/apropos/). He is the JavaFx evangelist from Oracle.
Speaking to EFYTimes.com, Rajmahendra, founder and leader of JUG-Chennai said, "The last two visits of Stephen Chin gave birth to JavaFX from JUGChennai community. This year, we are focusing on creating a platform for contribution to the JavaFX related projects like JFXtras, VisageFX, ScalaFX and JavaFX itself. With this event, we expect more people to join the community."

The event is being organised at Tenth Planet Technologies Pvt Ltd, Mount Road, Chennai. Program starts at 10am and will last till 5pm. The final schedule of the event is yet to be decided but the organisers have arranged for a hands-on session on JavaFX, JFXtras, Visage, ScalaFX, GroovyFX etc. The program targets students, professionals, and others who wish to learn JavaFX. The entry is open for all.
