Saturday, June 30, 2012 The first thought that should pop up in your mind after reading this is about your Xperia mini's SI number. Well readers, here we give you the latest update about Sony rolling out ICS update for its Xperia mini. The company has come up with a phones list carrying the Sales Item (SI) number based on which the update will be made available on your phone. If your SI number matches the one in the list, there you have your hands on the update.

ICS Update, Sony, Xperia mini, Android OS, Android 4.1, Android 4.0, Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Samdwich, Xperia range, Facebook, social integration, Sony smartphones, Xperia handsets, Steve Walker, Head of Marketing, Sony Ericsson, Sales Item number, phones list, unique identifier number, Android smartphones

The blog by the company read: “The Ice Cream Sandwich software update for 2011 Xperia Smartphone’s is now being rolled out. The update is released in batches, and you will find links to each phones list of all the currently released ICS software’s. Since there are minor differences in the software depending on product, country and operator we have a unique identifier that we call Sales Item (SI).

During the Xperia mini launch, Steve Walker, Head of Marketing, Sony Ericsson, said: “We wanted to provide consumers even greater choice across the Xperia range, while building on the success of the original mini series. These turbo-charged smartphones now contain even more power, enhanced functionality, a larger screen and premium features unique to Sony Ericsson. They are packed full of features, making them a perfect choice for consumers looking for all the benefits of Android and Sony in a beautiful and easy to use compact form factor.”

The Xperia mini features Facebook inside Xperia that integrates social connections throughout the phone, by making Facebook immediately accessible even from your picture gallery, music player, phonebook and calendar.

Some of the Xperia mini specifications are:
- 3-inch, capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 320 pixel resoluton
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, WiFi
- GPS with a-GPS Support
- Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and USB 2.0
- 5MP AF camera with LED flash and 720p video recording
- FM Radio
- 320MB internal storage, expandable to 32GB via microSD card
