Tuesday, July 03, 2012 Till now, whenever a low-end tablet was launched, one of the most popular buyer queries used to be whether the tablet supports voice calling and if it includes a rear camera. While most of the companies replied by saying -“can't include everything in a low priced Android tablet,” this one is different. Zync Global Private Limited heard its consumers and included both the features along with 3G support that too at a pocket friendly price of Rs 11,990.

The Zync Z-999 Plus has added every feature and included everything that you will need to run a tablet. You don't even have to invest in a screen guard. A screen guard, lycra sleeve and a pair of earphones along with a mini USB connector cable and a charger are included in the product box. So, all you need to do is just insert your SIM card, be it 2G or 3G to start toying with your new Android Ice Cream Sandwich buddy.

“We are targeting the Tier II cities with the Z-999 Plus. We have added a 4200 mAh Li-ion battery that can power the device throughout the entire day when fully charged and is especially suited for areas where power cuts is a common feature,” said Anuj Garg, director, Zync Global Private Limited.

Based on a 1.5GHz single core ARM Cortex A8 processor with 512 MB RAM, it runs Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich. “When initially Android 4.0 came in, Google specified that a minimum of 1GB of RAM was required to run the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. But recently the OS has been optimised and can easily run on 512 MB of RAM. So, that's the reason why we included 512MB RAM unlike the previous models where we added 1GB RAM,” said Garg.

“The tablet market in India is estimated at 10 million units in fiscal 2012 and we have already sold over 1,00,000 units in just 6 months. We are aiming to sell 0.5 million units with voice calling by 2013,” added Garg.
