DIRECTV Extends And Expands Relationship With Amdocs

Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems and services, today announced a 5.5-year extension through December 2017 of its relationship with DIRECTV, one of the world's leading providers of digital television entertainment services. Amdocs will continue to provide DIRECTV with software and services to enable DIRECTV to focus on providing the best in TV entertainment for its 20 million U.S. subscribers.

Under the new agreement, Amdocs will assume broader responsibility for managing DIRECTV’s billing operations, going beyond systems development and support to include the full billing lifecycle. By creating a single point of accountability and improving operational efficiencies, Amdocs will help DIRECTV sharpen its competitive advantage.
“Amdocs has been a strategic technology partner of DIRECTV since the beginning of our company,” said Mike Benson, executive vice president and chief information officer for DIRECTV. “We’re now building on that relationship as Amdocs takes an even broader role over our billing process.”
“This expanded agreement with DIRECTV fully leverages Amdocs’ Pay TV leadership in convergent billing and charging, resulting in improved operational efficiencies for DIRECTV and an enhanced experience for its 20 million satisfied customers,” said Brian Shepherd, group president for Amdocs.
Amdocs’ billing systems have supported DIRECTV since 1994 and have played an important role in DIRECTV receiving the highest scores in the American Customer Satisfaction Index survey among satellite and cable subscribers for the past 10 years.
