Samsung has already emerged as a leader in the smartphone market worldwide and now it is focusing on its home appliances segment by targeting a growth of interesting 25 per cent in India. The brand is working on escalating the sales during the festive season as it is the prime time of the year when electronics market witnesses maximum business. Last year, the home appliances segment for Samsung had a growth of 20 per cent.
There are various factors that have been affecting the consumer electronic market in India. One of the major reasons is the increased value of dollar. After which Samsung added 10 per cent to the prices of these products, owing to the rupee depreciation. This has adversely affected the entire consumer electronic market.
The company has introduced Direct Cool refrigerator and the Semi automatic washing machine in the Indian market. The refrigerators are priced between Rs 11,300 and Rs 18,900 and the washing machines are priced between Rs 10,950 and Rs 11,950, respectively. The products are designed, keeping in mind the Indian customer and his needs. New features and innovative technology has been introduced along with these refrigerators, like the Cool pack feature which prevents the temperature to increase rapidly when the power is off and avoids the food from spoiling quickly during a blackout. Apart from that, there is also a 'Freshkit' feature that absorbs all the bad odour in the refrigerator. For the semi-automatic washing machines there is a versatile Wash Tray.
The refrigerators are available in the market in various designs, patterns and colours like – red, pink, ultra inox, wine, silver and black.
