Make Free STD Calls: Reliance Make Free STD Calls: Reliance

At night, though.

Friday, November 24, 2006:  New Delhi: When the band 311 composed the song Give Me a Call, and sang the lines You should just give me a call, they may not have had Reliance Communications in mind. Because the offer Reliance Communications is coming out with definitely explains why You should just give me a call -- that too an STD one and for free!
The company has launched free STD calling facility at night. Using the Reliance STD Call Card of Rs 675 (offering full talk time of Rs 601), Reliance customers will be able to call any Reliance phone anywhere in India completely free of cost between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am. And that’s not all, for all other calls at any time in the day, the subscriber would pay just Re 1 per minute.

"We decided to offer this unique free STD calling facility which will be appreciated by our customers, such as couples staying apart and wanting to have long conversations, students staying in hostels wanting to stay in touch with families and BPO employees who are active at night and many similar customer segments,” said S.P. Shukla, president, personal business, Reliance Communications.

All Reliance subscribers can use the new STD card available all over India, irrespective of whether they have a postpaid or prepaid phone -- whether Reliance Mobile or Reliance Hello (Fixed wireless phones).

No information about any such offer is available on the Reliance Communications website. Such offers from Reliance seem to be very dubious as they may be packaged with some hidden conditions.... 5/22/2008 5:27:08 PM

BE Very Careful While dealing with Reliance i bought a card for Rs 675 and exhausted the balance before the month was over.It was then when i found out that once you have exhausted the balance u cannot use it anymore to make calls that were proclaimed to be free in nighttime even when the validity of card is not over. This information is not written on the card and before buying the card when i asked for written quotations they told that they do not have them and this piece of information is not on the card either. So at least for me Reliance is not Reliable and I will advise all of you also not to rely on reliance.1/12/2007 12:04:02 AM
