Monday, November 12, 2007:  Mysore-based Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RiiiT) has opened admission for the second batch of the 12-month post-graduate diploma in software programming. The institute has proposed to admit 1,000 students in the current batch. The course will commence from 1 February 2008. RiiiT is supported by the Department of IT and BT, Government of Karnataka, and the course is certified by the University of Mysore.
The 12-month PG Diploma in software programming is divided into four tracks: Foundation Track, Technical Track, Project Track and Internship Track. The course will train the students exhaustively in technical, communication, problem solving, verbal and soft skills. Admission to the course would be based on an entrance test, which will be assessed by 'MeritTrac' -- an external industry-based assessment agency. MeritTrac will be conducting periodic module level assessments throughout the course, to evaluate skills and knowledge level of the students.

S V. Venkatesh, founder and chief executive officer, RiiiT, Mysore, said, "We are addressing the industry talent crunch by enhancing the talent pool to optimise the industry’s potential through our well-defined world class curriculum, designed keeping in mind the ever growing demands of the IT industry."

RiiiT has tied up with the IT companies to ensure 100 per cent placements for students on successful completion of the course. The prospectus and application form for admission will be issued till 10 December 2007.
