Sony Launches In-car CD Tuner In India Sony Launches In-car CD Tuner In India

Featuring USB and Bluetooth support, MEX-BT3600U comes with a Quick-BrowZer interface that lets users find their favourite MP3 tracks easily.

Thursday, July 03, 2008:  Sony has launched the new MEX-BT3600U CD tuner, which features USB, Bluetooth, and front aux-in interfaces -- a quick-search interface that lets you browse your MP3 media and support for hands-free through the car stereo. One can either plug in USB pen drives in the front panel USB port and browse music files via a LCD interface, or enjoy stereo audio via a Bluetooth compatible Walkman or mobile phone with no connecting wires.
Sony's in-car line-up, MEX-BT3600U, offers superb sound quality, claims the company, plus features such as finding your favourite MP3 tracks with the help of new Quick-BrowZer interface. This allows easy browsing through your MP3 music library using the front panel's rotary controller. There is also a front panel AUX input that connects with the headphone output of any personal audio player.

To ensure clear dialogue during calls there's a high-quality microphone with echo cancellation technology that's concealed behind the head unit's front panel. Music can be paused automatically when a call is accepted and music resumes when the call is ended.

Pristine audio from CD and other connected music sources comes as standard with the MEX-BT3600U. The DRIVE-S CD chassis teams precision 24-bit D/A conversion with 52W x 4 channels of super low distortion MOSFET power. Sony's original DM+ (Digital Music+) codec enhancer restores high frequencies that are often lost when music files have been compressed from a CD source. Three separate pre-outs are provided. Key head unit functions can be controlled using the supplied card-sized infrared remote commander.

MEX–BT 3600U is priced at Rs 9,990, along with a two-years warranty.
