A national design challenge for professionals and students to design a mobile application that can empower the farming community of India.

Saturday, July 26, 2008:  USID Foundation, in association with Forum Nokia India, is organising a national design challenge for the professionals and students as pre-event for the 2nd India International Conference USID 2008 on HCI & Design, which will be held at Hotel Leela Kempenski, Bengaluru from 4 September to 6 September 2008.
The theme of the design challenge is 'Design a Mobile Application to Empower the Farming Community of India'. Forum NOKIA - USID Design Challenge 2008 is an opportunity for the professionals and students to showcase their talent by designing an easy to use mobile application that can help in the agriculture productivity and socio-economic development of the rural population.

Three winners in both students and professional category will be awarded products/gadgets of total prize money of Rs 1,60,000. The registration for participating in the design challenge is opened till 31 July 2008 and the entry submission will be accepted till 17 August 2008. Design Challenge 2008 is being organised in association with Forum Nokia India.
