Deutsche Bank Takes Away Some Of Its Work From Infosys

Infosys BPO suffered a minor jolt when Deutsche Bank decided to move a portion of its back office processes away from Infosys BPO to its captive centre in the city. The bank will move critical processes related to clients' trade and derivatives to its Network Services in Whitefield. According to The Economic Times, some 150 people are working on this process.

Boston Consulting To Revamp MphasiS’ Business

Bengaluru-headquartered IT services and BPO company MphasiS has appointed the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as consultant to revamp its business structure, reports Business Standard. WNS To Invest $15 Million To Set Up More Centres

WNS Global Services has announced plans to invest $15 million for establishing new centres in India in 2010. WNS currently has 21 delivery centers worldwide and is serving 200-plus global clients. According to Keshav R Murugesh, CEO, WNS Global Services Group, "In 2010, our capex is expected to be around $15 million and a lot of it will be invested in new centres in India. WNS is a global company and India plays a great part in our overall growth aspirations from a leadership, people, infrastructure and sustainability view," reports The Economic Times.

TCS Inaugurates 5th Delivery Centre In China

After its first foray into China in 2002, TCS has been consistently expanding its presence in China. While its employee base has reached 2000, with 92 percent of this lot comprising locals, the company has established five delivery centres in the country. The latest addition is its delivery centre in Shenzen, China that will focus on "delivering projects to APAC (Asia Pacific) markets", reports The Economic Times.

According to a forecast released by research firm Gartner, the revenue earned by India's domestic business process management services segment is likely to reach $683 million in 2010 and $1.6 billion by 2014 from $521 million in 2009. The report also states the key catalysts that are expected to bring about this high growth; it mentions "high economic growth, competitive pressure, agility, time to market, innovation and adoption across verticals and breadth of services will be driving this high growth rate in this segment," reports The Economic Times.

US Senator Calls Infosys A 'Chop Shop'

US Senator Charles Schumer has called Indian IT giant Infosys Technologies as "chop shop", reports the Wall Street Journal. He was talking on the occasion of passing of a $600 million border security bill on skilled work visas. "The emergency border funds will be paid for by assessing fees on foreign companies known as chop shops that outsource good, high-paying American technology jobs to lower wage, temporary immigrant workers from other countries. These are companies such as Infosys. But it will not affect the high-tech companies such as Intel or Microsoft that play by the rules and recruit workers in America," he was quoted as saying.
